Harry Myers sprayground reopens after valve failure and rapid repair

Parks staff told the board the Harry Myers sprayground closed for roughly 48 hours after a mechanical schedule-80 valve unexpectedly split. Staff described the failure as unusual and said the contractor (from Utah) was on-site within 12 hours and repaired the system so the facility could reopen the following morning. “Contractor out of Utah was on-site within 12 hours and had us open the next morning,” the Staff member reported.

Staff thanked Amanda and the contractor for quick work and noted the sprayground has been heavily used during hot weather. Board members expressed appreciation for the rapid response and for daily operations by staff at special events and everyday park use.
