Committee presses for clear bicycle parking and e-bike charging in Woolen Mill plan

Committee members pressed the project presenter for details about bicycle parking and potential e-bike charging infrastructure at the Lebanon Woolen Mill site. The Clerk reminded the group that “it is a requirement under the site plan regs to provide bicycle parking,” and members noted exterior markings on the plan were not labeled. One member recommended adding e-bike charging stations and weather-resistant fix-it stations to support public access and reduce car trips.

Members discussed whether bicycle parking would be public or limited to residents, and suggested the Planning Board could require labeled, permanent racks and indoor storage as part of site approval. The committee also flagged pedestrian safety where parking configurations and new access routes meet existing streets and roundabouts, urging clearer design details in upcoming Planning Board submissions.
