Selectboard accepts two volunteer applicants for zoning panels

The board invited volunteer applicants to speak for two open positions on local land-use bodies. One applicant identified himself in his remarks as Michael Chico and said he had recently moved back to Henniker, is retired and serves as state chair for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve; he said he would accept either a full seat or an alternate position and is also a beekeeper. The board confirmed there is one full vacancy on the zoning board and thanked the applicant for stepping forward.

Separately the board heard from Luke Renard, who said he lives off French Pond Road, previously served a three-year term on the budget advisory committee and works for a mental-health company that operates residential and community-based homes across the state. Renard said he would approach zoning matters with impartiality and welcome applicants, and he said he would be willing to serve as a full member or an alternate. Board members indicated they would move forward with appointments on the consent agenda.
