Friends of the Siskiyou County Museum report digitization, volunteer efforts and visitor programs

Grace Bennett, speaking for the Friends of the Siskiyou County Museum, described the group's work preserving local collections and expanding public access. Bennett said the Bob Rice collection has been digitized and indexed and is available on the museum computer; she described volunteer-led scanning, an improved catalog and public access options for researchers.

Bennett listed facility projects (roofs replaced on three buildings and one still needing work), a successful gift shop (revenues over $7,000), and programs including "Siskiyou Stories" and school visits that attract dozens of children. She thanked county maintenance staff and volunteers and noted the museum's Family Fun Day scheduled for Sept. 26; she also said the group has raised about $3,000 this year and awards scholarship funds from Giving Tuesday proceeds.
