LCA election committee finalizes candidate verification; candidates forum set for Dec. 27

Election committee members described the process to verify nominees' eligibility and announced a candidates forum.

An election committee member (speaker 3) summarized the verification steps the committee uses: confirm ownership via TMK/county real estate tax records, scan nomination documents into the LCA office Dropbox, and require lease agreements or proof of property ownership for nominees. The committee reported 14 nominees for the 2026 board slate and said the nomination form deadline is Nov. 30. The committee will include a small survey in the election packet and requested candidate bios (up to 150 words) and a photograph for voter materials.

Secretary (speaker 1) read the committee’s qualifications and announced several candidates who met requirements, stating that two nominees lacked required lease or ownership documents and one withdrew. The board scheduled a candidates forum for Dec. 27 at 1 p.m. in the Pavilion. The meeting recorded no formal challenge or appeal action at that time.
