Sun Valley council approves tentative 2019–20 budget; public hearing set for Aug. 1

The Sun Valley City Council approved the Fiscal Year 2019–2020 Tentative Budget Revenues and Expenditures and directed staff to advertise a legal notice for a public hearing on Aug. 1, 2019 at 4:00 PM for the Annual Appropriation Ordinance. The motion was made by Council Member Michelle Griffith and seconded by Council Member Jane Conard; the roll call vote was 4–0 in favor and the Mayor declared the motion approved.

City Administrator Susan Robertson reviewed changes made at the previous day's meeting and clarified questions from council members about the tentative budget. Council members also discussed consolidation of some funds within the Capital Improvement Fund but did not adopt any structural changes during the special meeting. The council scheduled the Aug. 1 public hearing as the next formal opportunity for public input and final action on the appropriation ordinance.

Action taken: the council approved the tentative budget and directed staff to publish the legal notice for the hearing. No member voted against the motion.
