Assemblywoman’s field representative praises local events, announces Delano health fair

Clara Babutierrez, field representative for Assemblywoman Dr. Bains, addressed the council during public comment to praise two recent community events — a 'Stuff the Bus' resource effort tied to Richland Elementary School and a chapter boxing-club event — and congratulated local volunteers for their contributions to youth and community pride.

Babutierrez announced a resource and wellness fair scheduled for September 30 at Ellington Park (925 Ellington, Delano) from 5 to 7 p.m., saying: "We're gonna have 50 booth of resources opportunities. We're gonna have Walgreens giving out free food jobs and everybody else giving out resources." She encouraged residents to attend and said the events help equip local children with tools to thrive.

Her remarks were delivered in an appreciative tone and the council acknowledged the events and volunteer efforts.
