Council renews final plat for New Albany Country Club Section 30

The New Albany City Council voted 7–0 to adopt Ordinance O27-20-26, renewing approval of the final plat for 40 single-family lots on roughly 30.1 acres in the New Albany Country Club (Section 30). Staff said the revisions to the plat are minor — small lot and reserve adjustments — and that recording will occur once outstanding finishing work, including a gatehouse foundation and landscaping, is complete.

At a council exchange about timing, the applicant’s presenter said construction and finish work remain in the southeast corner of the site, including replacing concrete curb with granite, installing street trees and completing planting around the stormwater basin. Councilmembers asked whether lots could reasonably be released this fall; the presenter said lot release is anticipated in the fall but is contingent on how much finish work is completed. There was no public comment during the hearing.

The ordinance was moved and seconded and passed on a roll call vote with seven yeses. Council and staff emphasized that recording the plat at the county — and therefore allowing foundation work and subsequent sales — will follow completion of the listed site improvements.
