Commissioners review roll‑forward budget amendments, including $624,754.84 in unspent CDBG funds

County finance staff summarized a package of budget amendments that largely reappropriate obligated but unspent funds from fiscal year 2025–26. The presenter told the board one amendment would reappropriate $624,754.84 in previously received CDBG grant funds that remain unspent. "These funds were received in prior fiscal years, and we have $624,754.84 that remains unspent," staff said.

Commissioners questioned how HUD program rules treat housing versus drainage work, noting that properties sold or changes in household eligibility can remove participants from an area and thus disqualify drainage work tied to housing programs. Staff said David Harris will be invited in September to clarify program constraints and eligibility; no final action beyond the consent packet review was taken at that time.
