Commission approves Harvest City Church site-plan amendment; parking agreement with Wylie ISD noted

The Wylie Planning & Zoning Commission approved a site-plan amendment for Harvest City Church, formerly Gateway Community Church, at 2201 Country Club Road to add a new education building. City staff noted the church has a city-council-approved parking agreement with Wylie ISD that provides 113 spaces and "that makes them in compliance with parking requirements," a staff member said during the presentation.

A commissioner asked how the church would address parking compliance if the school district withdrew the agreement. A project representative replied the parking agreement is legally binding between the two parties and said that neither party could terminate the agreement "without coming to city council first," describing the agreement as a binding arrangement that would require council action to change.
