Council committee approves design contract for water‑main replacement to rebalance pressure zones

The Infrastructure & Environment committee considered a proposal to design water‑main work needed to revise the village's water pressure zones and improve normal operating pressures and fire flows in the north/west area. Public works staff explained the 2010 master water study recommended moving parts of the area north of Dundee and west of (Bold) Hicks from the east pressure zone into the central zone, and that the next design step is a larger main on Cunningham from Thackery to Smith. Staff recommended awarding a design contract to the listed firm for an amount not to exceed $53,300.
