Valley View ISD board approves final 2025–26 budget amendment; $806,921 added to fund balance

The Valley View ISD Board approved the district’s final budget amendment for the 2025–26 fiscal year on May 25. Finance Director Sandra Martinez presented the amendment and answered trustee questions about fund balance and specific line items.

Martinez reported that the amendment adds $519,045 to Fund Balance and that the district also received $287,000 earmarked for roofing projects, producing a combined figure of $806,921 available to the district. She also reported a budget adjustment for Child Nutrition that reduces services by $36,473. On motion by Board President Claudia Coronado and seconded by Marisol Peña, the board approved the final amendment by a 4‑0 vote with three trustees absent.

Administrators said the adjustments will be reflected in year‑end financials and used for planned capital and operational needs. The board also scheduled a public hearing on June 8 for the proposed 2026–27 budget and tax rate.
