City manager presents 58-item work plan to Yreka City Council, asks for feedback

The Yreka City manager presented a consolidated work plan at the Aug. 4 special meeting, saying staff had narrowed an initial inventory to about 58 projects and organized them into buckets for more efficient delivery. "We really want to highlight what's going on with your community and, focus in on a few key areas," the city manager told the council, urging that the list reflect what staff can finish by year-end and early January.

The plan groups projects into ongoing programs, policy and regulatory work, planning, finance and administration, and infrastructure and facilities. The manager said the objective is quality not quantity: "Let's make sure that we do them and do them well and do them right," and invited council members to review detailed Excel sheets emailed to them and provide feedback by Aug. 18 to allow revisions before a September budget focus. Council members praised the visual layout and said they would take additional time to review the materials.
