Court signs quick-claim deed to transfer two tax-sale properties to City of Kemp

Richard Bland explained that two county-held, struck-off tax-sale properties have been sitting without purchasers and that the City of Kemp expressed interest in acquiring them for a use adjacent to the city park (potentially parking or expansion). "The city of Kemp has come and expressed interest on it. It backs right up to their city park," Bland said.

The judge noted the transfer appears to be a good public use and asked for a motion to approve signing a quick-claim deed to transfer the county's interest. Commissioner Moore moved to approve; Commissioner Lane seconded. The court approved the motion by voice vote and the judge thanked Bland for appearing to explain the matter.
