Resident raises privacy concerns about 'flock' camera near Raceway

Monica Kish, giving a public comment and listing her address, asked why a 'flock' camera was placed on County Road 227 across from the raceway rather than on 301 where it could better monitor traffic. She said the camera does not appear pointed at the 18-wheelers that frequent the site and worried the device could be used to pry into residents' privacy.

Kish referenced a recent incident in Savannah in which she said police and private citizens took identifications from flock cameras and used them for other purposes, and she warned that similar misuse could occur in Bradford County: "I don't understand why our privacy has to keep being stolen from us." She also said commercial establishments already film the public and questioned the need for county-provided camera surveillance at this location.
