Sheriff's office reports partial elevator outage, new equipment and drone use

Chief Sheriff Deputy Dave Kaeding reported operational updates to the committee at its July 10 meeting. He said the jail elevator is only partially working and staff currently must close the door manually; he also reported that officer staffing levels are good and that the department has obtained scales that will be put into service soon.

Kaeding told members that the Sheriff's Office has deployed its new drone and that the aircraft "has assisted in" a felony arrest, according to the minutes. The report was delivered as part of routine departmental updates; no formal action was taken on equipment or facility repairs at the meeting.
