Commission approves beverage license transfer and several rezones near UAB Medical West

Development Services staff told commissioners that a beverage license for an established gas station at Warrior Road and McLean Road needs to transfer ownership because one partner dropped out; the operator will remain the same. The staff presenter described the transfer as administrative and the commission approved the license transfer by voice vote.

Staff also reviewed a rezoning request for a former residential property across from UAB Medical West. The applicant revised its request from C-1 commercial to the newly created Institutional-4 zoning to better suit hospital-support services; Planning Commission recommended Institutional-4 and the commission approved the rezone. Staff said the reclassification aligns the site with nearby hospital-support uses.
