Toquerville council backs transfer of Chief Toquer Reservoir management to Utah State Parks

Mayor Dan Catlin opened the discussion on the Chief Toquer Reservoir by reviewing land-management and BLM recreation standards and introducing a resolution supporting a transfer of development and management to Utah State Parks. Ben Billingsley, Toquerville's city manager, summarized prior funding efforts for the project. The council also approved a separate resolution dissolving the Chief Toquer Reservoir Recreation Committee, again on a 5-0 vote. The actions formalize the city's support for state-led development of recreation facilities at the reservoir and remove the standing local committee that had previously advised on the project.
