Kalkaska chair’s committee roster approved unanimously

Chair Kohn Fisher announced his proposed standing committees and membership assignments at the organizational meeting on Jan. 2, 2026. The announced committees and chairs were: Judiciary & Public Safety (Chair: David Persons, members: David Comai and Truman Bicum); Health & Welfare (Chair: Truman Bicum, members: Jeff Sieting and David Persons); Public Works (Chair: David Comai, members: Scott Matley and Robert Baldwin); Personnel (Chair: Scott Matley, members: Jeff Sieting and David Persons); Finance (Chair: Jeff Sieting, members: Kohn Fisher and Robert Baldwin); and County Affairs (Chair: Robert Baldwin, members: Scott Matley and Kohn Fisher).

Commissioner Truman Bicum moved to accept the appointments; Commissioner David Comai supported the motion. The board approved the chair’s standing‑committee appointments by roll call vote with all seven commissioners voting yes.

Appointments to sub‑committees and external boards were tabled until the regular meeting on Jan. 21, 2026.
