Paradise Valley council suspends in-person quorum requirement for remote attendance

The Paradise Valley Town Council voted to suspend a rule requiring at least four council members to attend meetings in person, allowing a quorum that includes remote participants.

Council Member Pace moved to "approve suspending section 7 of the town council rules of procedure regarding remote attendance at council meetings." The motion was seconded and passed on a voice vote with no recorded opposition.

Town leaders said the suspension is a routine procedural option the council has used previously when a majority or quorum attends via Zoom. Mayor Santin called for the motion and confirmed the passage before moving to the next agenda item. The change was limited to the meeting in question and was presented as a short-term, procedural adjustment rather than a permanent rule rewrite.

The council did not attach additional conditions to the suspension during the vote; no public speakers addressed the item. The meeting proceeded to election certification and other business after the voice vote.
