Commissioners approve routine budget transfers, treasurer's report and several hires

The court approved grouped budget line-item transfers across several departments and accepted the treasurer’s bank-reconciliation report. Treasurer Garcia reported: "This week's health transfer total is $263,200, and our postage is $7,567.41." The court accepted the report by voice vote.

On personnel, the court acknowledged the resignation of Bill Bailey effective July 31 and approved new hires: Roberto Rodriguez as a full-time Road & Bridge crewman at a step 2 monthly pay ($3,115.50) and Aaron Andretti as an airfield lineman at a step 1 monthly pay ($3,424.31) with a $50 monthly phone allowance, both effective Aug. 3. Commissioners discussed the need for an updated pay-and-compensation plan and approved initiating the grievance-hearing process for elected-official salaries under applicable Local Government Code provisions.
