Select Board Representative Jeff Grip reported several items from the joint Select Board/Planning Board meeting. He said the Hampton branch of the Rail-trail will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 4 from 4–5 p.m. at the trailhead at the North Hampton/Hampton town line. Grip said the Select Board has directed staff to develop commercial trash-cost-recovery model(s) for consideration and has advanced the study for a new DPW facility; he also reported DPW remains down approximately 12 full-time employees.
Grip relayed concerns about the lack of lighting in the NHDOT bridge design and said Selectman Rage shared his understanding that Executive Councilor Stevens and Governor Ayotte are aware and are advocating that solar lighting be installed. The Board received these updates as informational items; no formal Planning Board action was recorded on the Select Board topics at the July 29 meeting.
