Resident urges county to prioritize Trunk Line Road repairs after culvert failures

During public comment, resident Robert Smith described multiple collapsed culverts and erosion on Trunk Line Road and asked the commission to prioritize repairs on the section between Heck Road and Beechree/Bee Tree. Smith said pipes at multiple locations are crushed or failing, sometimes allowing water to run under the culvert rather than through it, and said the condition creates a three-foot drop in places.

Smith spoke for neighbors and said he brought photos and the address 25530 Trunk Line Road so staff could locate the worst sections. Commissioners thanked Smith, acknowledged resource constraints and said they would accept a written request or email so the priority can be reviewed in open session when Commissioner Bartz returns from medical leave.
