Inland Wetlands Commission approves replacement of two culverts on Westside Road

At its regular meeting on Aug. 3, 2026, the Town of Norfolk Inland Wetlands Commission voted to approve Application #26-008 to replace two culverts in the regulated area at Assessor's Map 7-10-23 and 7-10-24 on Westside Road. The motion to approve was made by Bill Millard and seconded by Ted Otto and passed unanimously.

Applicant Susannah Wood, representing Sugarbush Partnership, provided photos and a cross-sectional diagram of the existing culverts and the proposed replacements. Vice Chairman Jill Chase asked specifically about pipe diameter; Ms. Wood responded that the replacement pipes would be the same diameter as the culverts currently in place. The Commission reviewed contractor sequencing and site materials before the vote.

The approval authorizes the replacement work as presented in Application #26-008. No conditions or permit amendments were recorded in the meeting minutes.

Votes and next steps: the motion passed unanimously. The Commission did not record any follow-up reporting requirements in the minutes; implementation will proceed under the standard land-use oversight for regulated-area culvert work.
