Council agrees to fund outside agencies at requested levels; marketing increase rejected

Council members reviewed external-contract funding requests during the FY21 budget discussion. Council President Michelle Griffith said marketing is important but suggested "just giving the amount that Sun Valley Marketing Alliance asked for, and not increasing it by $5,000, is appropriate."

Council Members DuFur and Saks said they preferred to fund outside agencies at their requested amounts, and Council Member Conard supported using the agencies' requested figures in the interest of efficiency. The council's apparent consensus was to allocate to external agencies the amounts each agency requested rather than add across-the-board increases; no formal appropriation or ordinance was adopted at this special meeting.
