On Aug. 13, 2020, the Sun Valley Mayor and City Council met in a special session and approved a motion to proceed with a title-only second reading of Ordinance No. 546, the Annual Appropriation Ordinance for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 2020, reflecting a $4,000 reduction in the city’s budget. The meeting convened in Sun Valley City Hall; Mayor Peter Hendricks called the meeting to order at 4:03 PM.
City Administrator Femling told the council that "that the actual budget was going down by $4,000 so we made that correction and reduced the overall budget by $4,000." The Mayor opened a public hearing on the ordinance at 4:05 PM; hearing no public comment, he closed the hearing at 4:05 PM. Council President Michelle Griffith moved to have a second reading and to read the ordinance by title only; Council Member Brad DuFur seconded. A roll call vote recorded affirmative votes from Council President Michelle Griffith, Council Member Keith Saks, Council Member Jane Conard (joining via conference phone), and Council Member Brad DuFur. The Mayor declared the motion approved.
Following the approved motion, City Administrator Femling read Ordinance No. 546 by title. The council then moved to adjourn; the motion to adjourn, made by Council President Griffith and seconded by Council Member DuFur, passed by roll call and the Mayor declared the meeting adjourned at 4:07 PM. The ordinance under consideration is titled "Annual Appropriation Ordinance for the City of Sun Valley, Idaho, for the Fiscal Year beginning October 1, 2020."
