Organizers finalize signage and handicap‑parking plan for Old Home Day

Organizers for Old Home Day refined where to place directional and handicap parking signs at Memorial Park and along access roads, agreeing to a mix of temporary directional arrows and several permanently mounted posts to be stored with the event trailer.

At the meeting the staff representative summarized the approach: "I did a summary of the signs that Patty has sent me," and urged the committee to place a legend on the field map so volunteers know which signs to deploy. Committee members argued for 4–6 handicap directional signs plus separate arrow plates so an arrow can be pointed left/right/straight depending on traffic flow.

The committee also discussed where to locate handicap parking zones so people who can't walk far are closer to attractions; a volunteer noted, "when somebody says I have somebody that can't get around very easily, we usually put them up towards handicap parking." The group agreed to mark the tree line, petting zoo and horseshoe area as prime sites on the updated map.
