Council approves 2027 athletic-field maintenance agreement with school district

The Common Council voted to approve a maintenance agreement between the City of Monroe Parks and Recreation Department and the School District of Monroe covering athletic field maintenance for the 2027 calendar year.

The resolution, offered by the Board of Public Works, authorizes the city administrator and city clerk to execute the agreement and carry out its terms. "The high school and baseball and softball complex maintenance agreement between the city of Monroe and the school district of Monroe for the period of 01/01/2027 through 12/31/2027 is hereby approved," the presenter said when reading the resolution.

Councilors moved and seconded the resolution and approved it by roll call. The agreement was described as continuing a longstanding cooperative relationship to provide recreational and athletic opportunities for the community.
