CRA gives maintenance and project updates, including parking-lot and alley stormwater work

Zach Gogol, CRA project manager, gave a multipart update on maintenance and ongoing projects in the CRA corridor, highlighting visible improvements and near-term construction work.

Gogol said the maintenance team — "Joey, Rolando, and Jesus" — has been focused on right-of-way mowing, alley and drainage cleanups, hydrant visibility and pressure washing in high-pedestrian areas. He reported 14 installed solar compacting trash cans (Big Bellies) throughout the CRA and showed before-and-after photos of cleared lots and alleyways. "We have Joey, Rolando, and Jesus. And they are a strong force to go through and take care of those blighted conditions," he said.

On projects, Gogol described progress on north and south parking-lot plans (Southeast 47th Street and Vincennes), procurement for Big John's developer interest, Club Square compactor/enclosure design work, Cape Coral Parkway six-laning (construction underway with estimated completion Nov. 30), alley stormwater drainage installations (Alley 67 and Alley 360), Country Club median landscaping and early design work for the Palm Tree Public Square and Founders Park Captain Walk. He noted the Bimini East project is being advanced in parallel and that permitting and design funds are currently the CRA focus.
