Board recommends annexation of 61 acres into Deer Mountain PUD; sends referral to County Commission

The board voted to recommend rezoning and annexation of a 61-acre parcel into an existing planned unit development (PUD) and forwarded the matter to the County Commission. Applicant Gerard Keating said the annexation would not increase density and described completed fire-mitigation work and other site improvements. The staff and applicant said the proposal would leave the overall development within previously agreed water-tap limits and that the change would increase green space per acre.

Gerard Keating introduced himself and described buying the adjacent 61 acres and the intent "to annex it into our current PUD." Consultant/advocate Randy Diver said the submittal shows lots averaging two acres and noted that the development agreement and water restrictions limit the project to 200 water taps in total, with "13 are dedicated to the clubhouse area, 187 to lots." Board members asked for a clearer map showing how the 187 lots relate to the larger master plan at the next meeting. The board recorded a motion and vote recommending the annexation; staff said the County Commission public hearing is set for July 30 at 9:00 a.m.
