Council explores fast-tracking OHV proposals to RTP; RTP has $780,926 available

Evan Beitsch, the RTP Grant Administrator, told the council that the Recreational Trails Program has $780,926 available for both motorized and non-motorized trail infrastructure, equipment, acquisitions and educational initiatives. He said the number of RTP applications rose to 10 this cycle from prior cycles and that the RTP deadline is April 1.

Council members discussed a process to fast-track or redirect OHV applicants who fall below the OHV Council’s funding line into the RTP portal, provided those applicants adjust proposals to meet federal NEPA compliance and submit a separate RTP application. The council agreed that a virtual review meeting for RTP applications should be scheduled outside normal working hours to accommodate members.
