During public comment, a Palatine resident said three weeks of new flight patterns tied to changes at O'Hare have produced intrusive noise over residential neighborhoods and asked for clear channels for residents to report concerns.
“Over the last 3 full weeks, the noise from the air traffic has become, extremely, intrusive on lifestyle,” the resident told council. Council members said the O'Hare Fly Quiet trial will begin in June as a six‑month trial and urged residents to file complaints using the O'Hare reporting website so impacts can be measured. Council members also asked staff to include a brief advisory and contact information in the village newsletter and other outreach channels so residents know how to report noise and track the pilot program. Staff said they would try to fit a short advisory and complaint contact into upcoming communications and explore options for bill or newsletter inserts.
