The Palatine Village Council met June 6 and the council recessed to committee of the whole to consider multiple committee items that were then placed on the evening consent agenda. Committees advanced zoning requests, contract changes and administrative agreements; the full council approved items 1–11 by voice vote when it reconvened.
Committee chairs said the items were routine or supported by staff recommendations. The list included a special-use and variation to permit an 8-foot front-yard fence at 1370 North Clinton Road, a special-use transfer to continue operation of a grocery store at 2070 North Rand Road, rezoning of 1216 North Park Avenue from R-1 to R-2, authorization for a North Street/Forest Avenue stormwater study, an increase to a guaranteed maximum price contract for a renovation project, a proposed trail-connection grant application, a replacement skid-steer purchase and a 20-year parking license agreement among the village, the Palatine Park District and Community Consolidated School District 15. The council chair moved approval of items 1 through 11 and the motion was seconded and approved by voice; a roll-call exchange showed affirmative responses across members.
