The Community and Economic Development Committee considered an ordinance to rezone 1216 North Park Avenue from R-1 to R-2 single-family residential and voted to forward the item to the evening consent agenda.
Staff described the property as at the end of a block with access from North Street and explained the rezoning would align lot access and proposed similar development standards on the north street. Council members pressed staff on potential drainage impacts and whether a drainage easement would be required if a pipe had to run under the road to reach a pond; staff responded that existing rights-of-way (including Park Avenue and Forest Avenue) provide adequate space for any necessary pipe extensions and that a separate drainage study of the area to the north is scheduled later on the agenda. Resident Scott Painter came forward, gave his address and did not register opposition; the committee voted to add the rezoning to the consent agenda for final council action.
