Palatine staff unveiled "Palatine 24/7" on April 18, a performance dashboard intended to present 24 core measures across seven categories (fire services, police services, infrastructure, community services, financial management, economic development and administration) and to be shared with the council and public twice a year.
Reid introduced the concept, saying the dashboard is meant to focus on measures that inform decisions rather than generate excessive data. "1 of our goals was to track performance measures in a a consistent consolidated format," he said. Mike, who walked the council through the packet, reviewed specific measures: fire response goals (90% of responses within 6.5 minutes), police benchmarks (bank alarm and domestic battery response goals under 3.5 minutes), pavement condition index and annual street investment, snow-and-ice control costs, water main break statistics and replacement spending, inspection and permit review-time goals (10 business days), FOIA request trends and citizen communication metrics (eBlast opens and website visits). Staff said the dashboard will be published on the village website and updated midyear and year-end.
