Resident calls Palatine's red-light camera program a 'public relations nightmare' during public comment

John Morrow of Arlington Heights spoke during the public-comment portion and said he believed Palatine's red-light camera program was "a public relations nightmare." Morrow identified himself as from Arlington Heights and gave his address to the clerk before addressing the council.

Morrow compared Palatine to other suburbs, saying some communities have many red-light cameras and suggesting Palatine does not need as many. He said the cameras "serve a purpose other than to raise money for some cities" and urged moving cameras to intersections with demonstrated accident problems or reducing the number overall.

The mayor thanked Mr. Morrow for coming forward; no other public commenters were recorded in the available segments and the meeting moved to adjournment.
