Town staff told the committee the Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD) is moving toward completion, with text revisions forwarded to the consultant for final formatting and a schedule that could bring the plan to the council in September.
"Staff has completed its revisions to the text, has forwarded them to Gohman in York who is now formatting the book," Director John Coleman said. He said the planning commission reviewed the future land use map and recommended changes; staff expects to return materials to the commission by the end of next week so the commission can act at its regular meeting and TPZ on August 20.
Coleman told members a lot depends on whether the commission is satisfied with the implemented changes, but staff is on a schedule to have the plan back to the council in September. Councilors emphasized the importance of finishing the POCD to support grant and SIF applications and asked staff to coordinate closely with TPZ and planning staff.
