The Lisbon School Committee voted to employ a life and career readiness teacher and a K–12 music teacher for the 2026–27 school year during its Aug. 3 retreat session. The committee approved both hires on motions that were seconded and recorded as 3–0 in favor.
"And I'd like to welcome Nicholas Murray to the Lisbon school department," the superintendent said after the first vote; following the second vote she added, "And I'd like to welcome Lars Jacobson to Lisbon school department." The votes followed superintendent recommendations and brief procedural motions from committee members.
The committee did not discuss salary or contract specifics during the public portion of the meeting. The superintendent’s update later in the workshop noted other staffing openings in math and speech/language, and said the district was close to full staffing for bus drivers.
The hires were recorded as motions and the committee moved on to policy and workshop items. No public comment on the hires was recorded.
