Council approves police records‑management change order and purchase of standby generators

The council approved two procurement items on July 30: a change order with Central Square Technologies LLC for $38,610 to convert police records into a new records-management platform, and a resolution awarding Hager's Electric a contract to supply and install three Caterpillar standby generators, totaling $389,786.65.

IT/Police staff said the conversion work was necessary to migrate data from the old system and keep records accessible; the original quote was higher and negotiations reduced the cost. For the generators, staff said the units will be installed at the Walmart lift station, the wastewater treatment plant and the Westfield booster pump and that the purchase was under the current budget. Council approved both measures; Councilman Arona recorded an abstention on the generator vote.
