Recorder reports $221,462.59 in second-quarter deposits; year-to-date receipts exceed $41.4 million

Recorder Kelly said the Recorder’s Office took in $221,462.59 during the second quarter and reported year-to-date deposits of $41,414,005.87. Kelly said the office recorded 2,883 land documents in the quarter and 7,997 documents year-to-date, and that the office employs roughly 3.5 staff members to handle the volume.

The chair praised the department for maintaining high service levels with a small team, saying it is “amazing” the county can do so much with relatively few employees. Kelly added the office’s mix of survey plats, land documents and other filings drives the workload and that some activity — such as plats and surveys — is higher here than in neighboring counties.

The commission did not take further action on the report; commissioners asked for comparative historical figures and thanked the Recorder’s Office for the update.
