Lynwood police report: 243 traffic stops, 22 arrests and stepped-up enforcement for St. Patrick’s Day

Chief Thomas presented the Police Department’s activity report for the period since the last board meeting. The chief recited department statistics including "243 Traffic Stops 22 Arrests 12 Guns recovered," 442 building checks, 34 domestic incidents, 181 ordinance violations and a total of 1,311 calls for service.

The department announced an enforcement campaign for St. Patrick’s Day running March 13–23 focused on speeding, seat-belt use, car seats and distracted driving. Chief Thomas also highlighted upcoming community engagement: Bowling with Badges at Lynwood Bowl on March 28 from 1–3 p.m., which requires RSVP. The department noted receipt of an NABRU award and recent community outreach activities, including a youth basketball game with Sandridge School.

The report provides quantitative policing activity and a schedule of near-term enforcement and community events; no policy changes or new ordinances were voted on at the meeting.
