Superintendent: district will hire BOCES for building utilization and boundary study

The superintendent told the board the district is finalizing plans for the coming school year and will contract with BOCES to perform a building utilization and boundary study to evaluate school usage and potential reorganization.

"We're con we're gonna contract with them, and they're gonna do what we call a building utilization and boundary study," the superintendent said, describing the consultant work to analyze building usage. The superintendent said enrollment has declined and the study would identify efficiencies "that will save money and provide more services for kids," and added the district would solicit community input as part of the process.

The superintendent said the district would "like to have this, you know, this whole study and everything completed by the 1st of next year" because the findings could influence the budget cycle that accelerates in October. The board did not take further formal action on boundaries at the meeting; the superintendent said more details will be presented at the Aug. 12 meeting as the study is finalized.
