Airport manager reports lower usage, Flight Check readiness and no backup generator at Bowman Field

Airport Manager Monte Belgarde reported to the board that "usage at the airport is way down," and suggested the local economy could be a contributing factor. Belgarde also told the board the Flight Check is ready to be scheduled and that he would coordinate with Mathew Wilder and others to ensure airfield lighting is operational during any check.

Belgarde confirmed the facility currently lacks a backup generator when asked about recent outages. "No, we do not have a generator," he said, prompting board members to note the vulnerability during multi-hour power outages earlier in the month. Belgarde also raised routine maintenance items, including the need to review fixed-distance runway markers and the small tractor mower used for airfield upkeep.
