Winnsboro ISD holds Feb. 7 special meeting; conducts superintendent interviews in closed session

The Winnsboro Independent School District Board of Trustees convened a special meeting on Feb. 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the Winnsboro Memorial Intermediate School cafeteria. President Brandon Green stated a quorum was present and noted the meeting had been posted according to the Texas Open Meetings Act. Board members listed in the minutes were Brandon Green, Kristie Amason, Jay Murdock, Chip Brown, Billy Saucier and Brian Busby; approximately 25 guests attended.

After an invocation by Brian Busby and the pledge, the board went into closed session at 10:04 a.m. under Texas Government Code Chapter 551.074 to interview candidates and to discuss employment of the superintendent. The board returned to open session at 12:20 p.m. and took two recorded actions in open session: hiring an interim superintendent (motion by Kristie Amason, seconded by Billy Saucier; carried 6-0) and approving additions and deletions of authorized representatives for investment and banking accounts (motion by Brian Busby, seconded by Billy Saucier; carried 6-0). The meeting adjourned at 12:43 p.m. and the minutes were certified as recorded in the transcript.
