The Santa Paula Unified School District Board of Trustees convened a special Saturday meeting to review an updated district strategic plan and to begin drafting the superintendent’s performance goals for the 2026–27 year. Chair (S1) opened the session, called roll and guided trustees through an interactive presentation delivered by Melissa (S6). "So, I will, briefly review the strategic plan with everyone," Melissa said as she introduced the plan’s origins and five areas of focus.
Trustees spent the session scrutinizing the plan’s priorities — first instruction (literacy), connectedness and MTSS/wellness, engagement and community partnerships, opportunity (CTE and early education), and district operations — and discussed how to convert those priorities into measurable goals for the superintendent. The board agreed to continue refining and measuring the proposed goals at an upcoming regular meeting, with emphasis on clearer metrics and committee reporting to support the evaluation process.
