The Village of Palatine placed a resolution of appreciation for community service employee Gary Spilot on the meeting’s consent agenda.
Chair opened the presentation by inviting Gary Spilot forward and recounted Spilot’s service since 1999, crediting him with founding a new department, leading the bike task force, securing grants and coordinating with county, park district and school partners. "Your advocacy for the bike task force is 2nd to none," the chair said in praise. A motion to approve the resolution was moved and seconded and the committee recorded the aye responses and added the measure to the consent agenda.
The resolution recognizes Spilot’s work to make Palatine safer and more connected by stretching department resources and pursuing external grants. The item will appear on the council’s consent agenda for final approval.
