Committee recommends transfer of special use for sports complex at 615 S. Consumers Avenue

The Police Policy and Code Services Committee on May 7 recommended approval of an ordinance to transfer an existing special-use authorization for a sports complex at 615 S. Consumers Avenue (District 5) to a proposed new operator.

Committee Chair Councilman Lamberin said the transferee intends to operate skating, ice hockey and figure-skating youth activities in the existing tenant space and would be party to maintenance and parking arrangements in the Consumers Avenue right-of-way. Zoning staff told the committee that parking and operational standards in the shopping center met requirements; the zoning board of appeals had no objection. The committee recommended approval and the chairman noted the item would appear on the council consent agenda that evening.
