Council committee moves forward four-year contract with public-works union

Staff presented a four-year collective bargaining agreement between the Village of Palatine and International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 150, which represents Public Works employees. The agreement would run through the end of 2019 and includes language updates on boot allowances and drug-and-alcohol policy clarifications; wage adjustments are specified as 2.5% for each of the first three years and parity with non-represented, non-managerial employees in year four.

"Agreed upon wages represent adjustments in amount of 2.5 percent for the first 3 years and an amount equal to the non-represented non-managerial employees in the year 4," staff said while recommending approval. Committee voted to forward the agreement to the consent agenda for council action.
