Palatine opens 14-day public comment period for 2017 CDBG action plan

Council opened a public comment period for the Village of Palatine's 2017 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) action plan. Staff explained that HUD-directed timing delays reduced the normal 30‑day public comment window to 14 days for this cycle; the action plan is posted on the village website with instructions for submitting comments.

Staff said the plan will return to the council in August for final review and that residents may comment via the website or by submitting written comments that will be included in the record forwarded to HUD. "Per direction from HUD, the typical 30 day public comment period has been narrowed down to 14, but today would commence opening of the public comment period," staff said. The council directed staff to open the comment period and called for public input during the 14‑day window.
