Board elects Dan Shoemaker as chair in unanimous vote

The West Linn-Wilsonville SD 3J board unanimously elected Director Dan Shoemaker as its new chair during a special meeting. A director nominated Shoemaker and members discussed his leadership experience before taking a vote.

"I would like to nominate, director Dan Shoemaker as chair," a director said during the nomination. Shoemaker confirmed his interest, replying, "I I am. Yes." Board staff then called the roll and recorded unanimous "Aye" votes from the directors.

The election was the first formal item of the special meeting. Board members praised Shoemaker's experience during the brief discussion and congratulated him following the vote. The board moved immediately to elect a vice chair as the next order of business.
